For individuals who want a new and updated version of the Panasonic Toughbook 19, the Panasonic Toughbook CF19 is the laptop for you! This is Panasonic's only rugged convertible laptop. The upgraded features will ensure that the Panasonic CF19 is one of the most durable laptops on the market. The evolution to Panasonic's most rugged laptop came when they upgraded the Intel Core Duo U2400 to a Core 2 Duo U7500. There is also a very low voltage chip that runs 1.06GHz but produces the same speed and the same thermal design power rating as the Toughbook 19. Another way in which the CF-19 surpasses the previous Toughbook model is by being backward compatible with already released vehicle mounts. The compact design (10.7" x 8.5") and less than 2" thickness means that this incredibly rugged piece of technology takes up less space than before, and weighs just five pounds.
Being one of the only convertible laptops on the market, you can choose to use the Panasonic CF19 as a traditional laptop or as a tablet. The CF19 offers both a touchscreen with Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Tablet Edition with an active Wacom digitizer version. Both versions have a 10.4-inch transmissive XGA display, and a low reflection screen coating with a circular polarizer. The Digitizer version is brighter with a 550 Nit rating while the touchscreen version has a 470 Nit LCD.
