The Durabook D15TS: A Notebook PC Tough Enough for the Real World
The Durabook D15TS Tough notebook PC can handle the drops, shocks and spills of the real world and slips comfortably into a backpack, for taking and working anywhere. The Durabook D15TS offers long-term durability and performance. TheD15TS is a portable computer built to withstand everyday accidents, an off-road weekend trip to the wilderness, and even a coffee spill. It is compliant with US Military Standard 810F for drops, moisture and vibration.
The Durabook D15TS is sturdy enough to take everyday knocks, impacts and bumps. It comes with a 15.4" wide screen LCD display, anti-shock mounted HDD, magnesium alloy case, a spill-resistant keyboard, protective spill tray underneath the keyboard to prevent accidental damage due to spills and an optical disk tray lock to prevent unintended ejections. The system's lightweight magnesium alloy case is tested to withstand drops from 29-inches onto plywood over concrete (with unit off and display closed) with the magnesium alloy top and bottom case protecting the system's vital components such as LCD, HDD and motherboard.
The Durabook D15TS is powered by Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz Centrino processor Mobile Technology, and is 3G upgradeable. The double protection smart battery circuitry prevents the damage caused by overheating and voltage surges and the battery calibration helps to reduce battery capacity loss due to repeated charges and discharges. For security, the unit features a smart card socket for identity protection and TPM (Trusted Platform Module) security device. The DVD/CD tray lock prevents unintentional ejections and disk drops.
The Durabook D15TS weighs 6.39-pounds and comes with an anti-shock mounted 15.4-inch LCD screen with WXGA resolution (1280 x 800). Other features of the Durabook D15TS include an anti shock mounted 80/100/120/160 GB HDD, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator x3100, Intel Smart 2D display, and an IntelPro/Wireless 3925ABG (802.11 a/b/g) network connection. The D15TS's standard features include an IEEE 1394 port, three USB 2.0 ports, one Type II Express Card slot and an RS232 serial port. Optionals include a Web Camera, Bluetooth EDR 2.0 support and Encrypted Hard drives for the utmost in data security.
