TDS Nomad Handheld PDA
The rugged TDS Nomad Handheld PDA is an ideal GIS data collection tool, with built-in GPS. You can run specialized software for barcodes, or Arcpad or GBM Mobile software for GIS. The Nomad Handheld PDA is the most suitable for field or industrial environments.
In GIS, the TDS Nomad Handheld PDA is used in the areas of geology, property management, asset management, disaster planning, mapping, geography, earth sciences, botany, environmental reporting and mapping, and other spatial recording requirements.
TDS Nomad has a high speed 806 MHz Marvell PXA320 XScale processor, 128 MB RAMS and the latest Windows Mobile 6 software. Nomad allows you to run a wide range of third-party software for industry-specific applications. A 640x480 sunlight readable 16-bit VGA color display and a Secure Digital (SDIO) slot make the Nomad a versatile PDA. The memory cards enable you to increase data storage for larger jobs or use other accessory cards for multiple applications. Nomad has a touchscreen and a built-in keypad. The TDS Nomad PDA has the built-in Bluetooth and 802.11g wireless communication capabilities.
Nomad has a hot-swappable rechargeable lithium-ion battery to keep it going well all the day. Further, the use of lithium-ion batteries reduce the recharging time is significantly. These batteries allow you have over 14 hours of continuous run.
TDS Nomad 800L Rugged PDA comes with a SirF III GPS receiver built-in. This makes the Nomad a useful standalone device with a position accuracy of around 7-10 meters. The Nomad fulfils MIL-STD-810F standards for drops, shocks, vibration and temperature extremes, and it has an IP67 rating-implying it is impervious to dust and water immersion. While testing, the Nomad was successfully submerged in one meter deep in water for up to 30 minutes without harm.
