TDS Nomad has a high speed 806 MHz Marvell PXA320 XScale processor, 128 MB RAMS and the latest Windows Mobile 6 software. Nomad allows you to run a wide range of third-party software for industry-specific applications. A 640x480 sunlight readable 16-bit VGA color display and a Secure Digital (SDIO) slot make the Nomad a versatile PDA. The memory cards enable you to increase data storage for larger jobs or use other accessory cards for multiple applications. Nomad has a touchscreen and a built-in keypad. The TDS Nomad PDA has the built-in Bluetooth and 802.11g wireless communication capabilities.

TDS Nomad 800L Rugged PDA comes with a SirF III GPS receiver built-in. This makes the Nomad a useful standalone device with a position accuracy of around 7-10 meters. The Nomad fulfils MIL-STD-810F standards for drops, shocks, vibration and temperature extremes, and it has an IP67 rating-implying it is impervious to dust and water immersion.
