The GETAC A790, the most ruggedized, heavy-duty portable notebook, is MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461E qualified computing platform, which means it can withstand impacts, vibrations, drops, temperature extremes and electromagnetic interference. And GETAC A790 also meets the IP-54 standard requirements with the die-cast magnesium case which is completely sealed to prevent infiltration of water from the rain and the dust. The first bay supports a wide range of optical disk drives, such as combo drives and DVD-RW drives, as well as a second HDD or floppy disk drive. The next bay supports a second PCMCIA slot, COM port module, DGPS module, second battery, and wireless modem (for GSM/GPRS). The expansion modules are very easy to swap in and out, making the A790 an exceptionally versatile mobile computer. The A790 also provides an optional bottom-mounted expansion unit that can accommodate two PCI or ISA expansion cards, allowing a greater range of custom solutions to be implemented for the most specialized requirements.
