The semi-rugged Durabook D15RP is a good choice for mobile users who want power, performance and security. Like all Durabooks, the D15RP is built tough and built to last long with a magnesium top and bottom case to protect the systems vital components from damage due to drops, impacts, vibrations and concussion. The Durabook D15RP's anti-shock mounting design protects the LCD and HDD from damage and data loss and the flexible HDD cable design absorbs shocks from drops. The spill resistant design protects the internal components from accidental spills. The D15RP sports a 15.4" DuraBrite wide screen WXGA LCD with graphic resolution up to 1280X800/1440 x 900. The Durabook D15RP's on-screen graphics is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA X3100 which supports up to 384MB of shared memory. Durabook D15RP is certified Military Standard 810F for HDD shock absorber; LCD shock absorber; water resistant keyboard; spill resistant touch pad, LED and buttons. It can withstand drops from a height of 29 inches.

Spill resistant keyboard, touchpad and switches are designed to resist spills from seeping into sensitive interior parts. The double protection smart battery circuitry minimizes the damage caused by current or voltage surges and overheating. The smart battery calibration reduces the loss of battery capacity after repeated charge-discharge cycles.

The D15RP features the latest Intel Centrino Duo mobile technology that provides maximum performance and efficient power management. Standard features that come with the Durabook D15RP include three USB 2.0 ports, an IEEE 1394 port, one Smart Card Reader, one Type II Express Card slot and an RS232 serial port.
